Created by Michelle and Robert King (The Good Wife), Evil focuses on a sceptical female psychologist who joins a novice priest and a contractor as they investigate the Church's backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
The series opens with forensic psychologist Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) being hired by the Catholic Church to work with David Acosta (Mike Colter), a priest-in-training, and blue-collar contractor Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi), to determine whether a serial killer is possessed by a demon or merely a psychopath.
The thirteen-part series also stars Michael Emerson, Christine Lahti and Kurt Fuller, along with guest stars including Peter Scolari, Dascha Polanco and Clark Johnson.
