1. The Guards

Former Garda policeman Jack Taylor investigates the disappearance of a woman's teenage daughter, a task that leads him into the underworld of Galway City. When four bodies turn up in the river and Jack's favourite barman dies in mysterious circumstances, everything he believes in begins to unravel - making him question those closest to him.
2. The Pikemen

Jack returns to his native Galway after a year away and is called on to investigate the murder of a man who fell from the scaffolding of a construction site, drawing him into the world of a vigilante group. In his quest for justice, it becomes clear Taylor's only chance of success is to adopt a similar strategy to the group he wants to take down.
3. The Magdalen Martyrs

Jack is hired by the daughter of a former inmate of a Magdalen asylum. She asks him to identify a nun, known only as Lucifer, who took great pleasure in relentlessly torturing young girls at the institution, but he is immediately alerted to the possibility of a cover-up after being warned off by local hard-man Bill Cassell. Things are soon complicated further when her nephews are found murdered.
