Quantico: What We’re Dying To Know

The first season of Quantico had enough twists and turns to give us whiplash. And now we have just a few questions...

What we're dying to know in Quantico

IS ALEX NOW CIA OR FBI OR WHAT?

So the first season had a shocker of an ending, what with Liam being unmasked as the blood-soaked terrorist, and poor Simon - who was clearly everyone's favourite Quantico trainee - dying in a massive nuclear explosion. As for Alex... well, her career in the FBI was left in tatters, apparently. And she was given a new offer of work with the CIA instead, apparently. But this is Quantico, so we can't take anything for face value. Will Alex really start from scratch as a CIA agent, or will she still have ties to the Bureau? The show IS still called Quantico, after all...

ARE ALEX AND RYAN A PROPER THING?

Oh, Alex and Ryan. Most "will they or won't they" TV couples take at least two seasons to so much as peck each other on the lips. But Alex and Ryan cut right to the chase (and by "chase" we mean "sex") as soon as they met. Despite this, it was far from plain sailing after that promising start. Their relationship encountered some complications - you know, minor quibbles like Ryan getting shot, and parts of New York getting blown up, and everyone around them getting constantly killed. So, are Alex and Ryan now going to get hitched, or go the opposite way and split up?

New and Exclusive - Quantico, Season 2

New Season starts Thursday, March 2 at 9pm.

WHAT'S THE BIG NEW TERRORIST OUTRAGE?

Oh come on, there's GOING to be a new terrorist outrage, and it's going to be massive. The first season was all about big explosions, thanks to bomb-fetishist Liam, so it's (probably) safe to assume we'll be getting a different kind of attack in the new run. What we do know is the first episode features a summit of world leaders, including the US President, and Alex Parrish will be in the immediate vicinity. That sound you can hear is every alarm bell in your head going off.

WHO ARE THE NEW FACES?

Quantico knows how to do an awesome ensemble cast. The first season had all the FBI trainees, with their juicy, sinister, guilt-ridden back stories. Each person's CV would basically have read like a thriller novel. Speaking of which, one of the new faces in season two actually IS a thriller writer, whose whip-smart insights into espionage have earnt him a place as a CIA recruit. There's also a cheeky Brit who's a bit like the Artful Dodger, only without the sooty face and top hat, who we have a feeling is going to be season two's Simon Asher (ie, the one we all secretly love the most).

Where will the other Quantico trainees be?

WHERE ARE THE OLD FACES?

Just because there's a whole new classroom of contenders to deal with, that surely doesn't mean we'll be cutting loose from the season one trainees. While Simon may be no more (and we're still utterly heartbroken about this, by the way), we're still hoping to spend quality time with the twins Raina and Nimah, who pulled the wool over people's eyes in the first season. And how about Shelby, who had such a wonderfully bickersome friendship with Alex. Or Caleb, who started out as an obnoxious jock but evolved into a character we actually didn't want to smack. We'd like to see more of all these guys.

WHAT ARE THE TIMELINES?

If there's one thing that sets Quantico apart from other shows, apart from the glaring hotness of literally everyone we ever see on screen, it's the clever use of timelines. Season one skipped back and forth between Alex training at Quantico, and Alex on the run after being framed for the New York bombing. We know the new season will also be similarly bold with its plotting, though in this case it seems that one of the timelines will all be set on one day. Consider us very curious indeed...
