Episode 1: O Brave New World
Debt-laden private investigator Frank Hathaway finds an unlikely partner in Luella Shakespeare when the pair are thrown together to catch a killer and clear Lu's name. Lu's partner has been murdered on their wedding day, fatally stabbed with a pair of Lu's hairdresser scissors. But when Frank discovers the groom had multiple identities, things don't look quite so cut and dried.

Episode 2: The Chimes at Midnight
Frank and Lu are called on to investigate sinister acts of sabotage at Shady Nooks care home run by Penelope Pincott and her husband Owain. But as the pair of PIs look for suspects among the hapless care assistants and surprisingly spirited geriatrics, Penelope falls to her death from the roof. Was it an accident or murder?

Episode 3: This Promised End
Undertaker Peter Quintus leads a seemingly quiet and unassuming life with his loving wife Anne. So, when he's visited one morning by two mysterious hitmen who give him just 24 hours to live, Frank and Lu have to race against the clock to save Peter from presiding over his own funeral.

Episode 4: This Rough Magic
Old school magician, Lawrence Pross, is in the midst of his grand finale when tragedy strikes and his unlucky volunteer, wealthy Jill Shiplake, is killed in his medieval iron maiden. Pross and his daughter Maggie think that rival magician, Anton Dukes, is responsible but Frank and Lu have other ideas.

Episode 5: Toil and Trouble
When the Mayor of Arden is discovered murdered in his isolated cottage in the dead of night, suspicion falls on local criminal, William 'Billy The Brick' Porters, who just happens to be a former informant that Frank is indebted to, back from his Detective Inspector days. Can Lu and Frank prove Billy's innocence?

Episode 6: Exit, Pursued by a Bear
It's a slow day in the office for Frank and Lu until former soap star Sally Balthasar flies into the office in a whirlwind of tears. She's received death threats about her irreverent female-led Shakespeare adaptation 'Juliet and Romeo'. Will her return to the limelight be thwarted or can Frank and Lu save the day?

Episode 7: The Fairest Show Means Most Deceit
Frank and Lu are employed by shop owners, Diana and Leon, to investigate an ex-employee who is claiming compensation for a suspicious workplace injury, leading Frank's assistant Sebastian Brudenell to go undercover as a transvestite. Meanwhile, the investigation is hampered when an American turns up claiming to be Frank's long lost uncle.

Episode 8: The Chameleon's Dish
Frank and Luella come to the aid of troubled teenager Hamish who is suffering from nightmarish premonitions... a recurring dream in which he discovers the body of a murdered woman. To try and solve the mystery, the pair of PIs join Hamish at a spiritual retreat run by his mother and stepfather.

When a dead rat makes an unwelcome appearance on a top restaurant's menu, head chef Len Tekler is furious and employs Frank and Luella to investigate. It looks more and more like sabotage when the restaurant has to be closed following a food poisoning incident. But who is responsible?

Episode 10: Ill Met by Moonlight
Frank and Luella are called to investigate when Lady Tania Bede's rebellious daughter Mia and a valuable necklace both go missing on the same night. The stakes get higher with a ransom demanded for Mia and the PI pair must solve the mystery by the time midnight strikes at Lady Bede's End of Summer Ball.
