Before Yannick Bisson's incarnation of Detective William Murdoch, there were three made-for-TV movies adapted from the novels of Maureen Jennings starring Peter Outerbridge. In this second film, Constable Oliver Wicken is found dead in the basement of an abandoned house, shot through the head. While the rest of the police department believes he committed suicide, Murdoch thinks otherwise and sets out to prove that his friend and protégé was murdered. Also starring Colm Meaney as Inspector Brackenreid and Keeley Hawes as Dr Julia Ogden.
