Detective Carrie Wells (played by Poppy Montgomery)

An enigmatic former Syracuse police detective, Carrie has a rare condition that gives her the ability to visually remember everything she has seen or heard - something that is extremely helpful with detective work.
Lieutenant Al Burns (played by Dylan Walsh)

Burns is a dedicated and decorated cop and the Commander of the 117th Precinct's Detective Squad. He was also Carrie's partner and lover when she worked at the Syracuse Police Department.
Dr Joanne Webster (played by Jane Curtin)

Dr Webster is an experienced and gifted medical examiner although she's prone to be somewhat prickly. She has been relegated to the 117th Precinct for speaking out against her superiors.
Detective Nina Inara (played by Daya Vaidya)

A sassy, street-smart cop, Detective Nina Inara is one tough cookie and an outspoken but invaluable member of Lieutenant Al Burns's NYPD homicide squad.
Detective Mike Costello (played by Michael Gaston)

Another one of Carrie and Al's co-workers at the 117th Precinct, Detective Mike Costello is a loyal, hard-working cop and Lieutenant Burns's right-hand man.

Sanders is a junior detective on the team. He likes to kid Carrie about her amazing ability and he's rather fond of Tanya Sitkowsky, a technology expert who sometimes aids the group.
