DS Lola Franks

Lola is a tough-as-nails detective, working in London. Highly skilled at her job, Lola is inclined to bend the rules and work around the clock to get the job done, so she's not too thrilled to be partnered with the seemingly straight-laced DI Jackson Mendy. Although she's completely focused on catching criminals, she's also permanently scarred from an incident in her recent past that has left her wracked with guilt.
DI Jackson Mendy

Jackson is a homicide novice who has worked in anti-corruption and has just moved over from internal affairs to be partnered with Lola Franks. He's determined to win Lola over as they get stuck into the first case but, with his upbeat idealism and philosophical notions about guilt and blame, he's at the opposite end of the spectrum to Lola when it comes to policing.
Freddy

(Played by Hermione Corfield)

Mesmerising and mysterious, Freddy is a free spirit and fiercely self-sufficient. Capable of getting anything she wants, Freddy could be extremely successful, but she's emotionally detached and something inside her is hardwired to inflict hurt on others. With an extremely troubled past, she's managed to keep her personal demons in check... until the fateful night she meets Baba.
Baba

(Played by Dipo Ola)

Baba is working as a nightclub toilet attendant when he first encounters the magnetic Freddy, setting in motion a devastating series of events. A former child soldier, Baba has turned to religion and worked hard to turn his life around since arriving in London from the Congo, but his dark past haunts him and his ability to inflict tremendous injury quickly and efficiently fills him with shame.
